You’re probably here because you want to learn more about me and what I’m building. Before I share the highlights, there’s something I want you to know: the work you see now is years in the making. None of it happened overnight. Change—especially the kind you may be here to find—rarely feels comfortable. But it is within reach.

I won’t pretend changing my life was graceful. It came with emotional growing pains. I felt every stretch, pull, and moment of resistance. At sixteen, I was homeless on the streets of Vancouver, living with constant worry while navigating ADHD without the tools or support to manage it. There were times when overwhelm and anxiety made even getting out of bed feel hard. What made things easier was putting my story into words. It made me see that vulnerability could create a positive impact beyond myself.

Your story is often where others begin. Any movement forward counts. Each choice made in that direction matters and that practice, repeated over time, is what got me here. Today, I am a nurse, author, and advocate doing purposeful work that bridges healthcare and human transformation. For more than a decade, I’ve supported people in their most vulnerable moments, both inside and outside the hospital. Through that work, I discovered what now anchors everything I do: my signature REAL Success™ Framework. It  invites others to lead with purpose, evolve through change, and live fulfilled.

Writing began as a private outlet during some of the hardest seasons of my life, a way to process what I couldn’t yet understand. Those pages became a way to turn pain into meaning and vulnerability into light. Beyond my writing, I continue to advocate for humanity across the systems we live and work within, encouraging others to reconnect with their purpose and turn their own light outward into the world.

I’ve learned many of these lessons the hard way, so you don’t have to. My goal is to share the tools and language that help you see you don’t need to become anyone else to build the life you want. No perfect plan. No extreme approaches. Just you—choosing to move forward, even when it feels heavy. Resilience has always been part of your path; It’s what reveals the hope you thought you’d lost, and reminds you that you’re capable of finding it again. It’s a way back to yourself.

I hope you use what you find here, share your journey, and pass it forward as you make the changes you want to see in your life.

Always in your corner,

Professional Bio

Ness Mickey is a registered nurse, first-time author of Resilience in Residence (debuting early 2026), speaker, and advocate with more than a decade of experience supporting people in their most vulnerable moments. She brings a rare combination of clinical expertise, grounded leadership, and lived experience to her work exploring healing, identity, and alignment.

She is the creator of the REAL Success Framework—Rooted in Purpose, Evolve with Life, Align Your Energy, and Live Fulfilled—which helps individuals and organizations navigate change without losing themselves in the process. Her work reframes resilience not as something uncovered only through hardship, but as a skill set every person is capable of building.

Ness graduated nursing in 2019, with the BCNU North-East Region Award for Leadership and completed her Emergency Nursing Specialty at BCIT with distinction in 2023. She became a travel nurse in 2021, gaining experience across diverse systems. Her clinical background includes extensive experience in acute care settings including emergency and rural healthcare across Northern Canada.

Through her writing and speaking, Ness gives language to those who feel lost, offering perspective that affirms healing is possible. She is also a vocal advocate for humanity within the systems we live and work in—particularly healthcare—grounded in frontline experience and a belief that sustainable change begins with clarity, alignment, and courage. Her work invites others to lead with purpose, move forward without perfection, and build lives guided by resilience and meaning.
